REVELATION 11:5-6

REVELATION 11:6-7 > TODAYS KEY WORD > DEVOURS

DEVOURS >Destroy: to destroy something rapidly and completely

As we continue to read of the two witness’s God sends to Jerusalem, Israel . we read that some of the power they have is to shut up heaven so that rain may not come in the days of their prophesy. They also have power over the waters to turn them to blood , and to strike the earth with all plagues as often as they desire .

Sounds very similar to the power Moses had in the book of Exodus , when the Pharaoh of Egypt would not let Gods people go >

REVELATION 11:4-5

REVELATION 11:4-5> TODAYS KEY WORD>HARM

HARM > To hurt, damage or injury: physical or mental damage or injury

Here we read in Revelation 11 verse 4-5 that God has appointed two witness’s , described here as lampstands and olive trees . These two witnesses will talk of the light of salvation , thus the reference to the lampstand , also of the olive tree which lives years and years and supplies needed food to many .

It is said here that these two witness’s will not be harmed , they will be armed with mighty power, fire from their mouths to destroy anything that comes near them to destroy them

A lot of different meanings for Power we read here . These two witness’s God will send for one thousand two hundred and sixty days

( exactly 3 1/2  years ) will have mighty power and will witness nonstop to the lost of the Gospel of Our Lord God , creator of all things .

They will not be harmed as much as they people try to harm them , they will do their designated job without harm until it is completed . They will be in Jerusalem , Israel , during this period of time .

REVELATION 11:1-2

REVELATION 11:1-2 > TODAYS KEY WORD > TREAD

TREAD>Walk or step on something: to take a step or steps, or walk or step on, across, or along something
2. Form a path: to form something such as a path by trampling or walking

A couple of different explanations of our key word today , basically meaning that people will walk there .

As we enter chapter 11 in the  Mighty  Book of Revelations we come to hear of the two witnesses God will send to the temple area which is in Jerusalem , Israel .

Before we get to these two witnesses, we will read of how to measure  the  temple of God , the altar and the people who worship there  .

John is instructed to leave the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles . Gentiles meaning non-jewish people .

REVELATION 10:10-11

REVELATION 10:10-11> TODAYS KEY WORD > PROPHESY

PROPHESY> Predict with divine authority: to reveal the will of a deity in predicting a future event

We now read that John took the little book from the angels hand and ate it as he was instructed to do , it was sweet in his mouth and bitter in his stomach as he was told it would be > he was then told to prophesy about what he had learned to many nations , tribes , and people .

We can only imagine how this scene played out ? The  little book was eatable , that we know . The imagery here speaks to me as the word that is being revealed to John that cannot be written down , is sweet at first and then bitter when digested , sounds like things will be fine , yet a little later not so fine .

REVELATION 10:8-9

REVELATION 10:7-8 > TODAYS KEY WORD >BITTER>

BITTER> Strong and sharp in taste: having a sharp strong unpleasant taste, for example, like that of orange peel

As we continue  reading in  chapter 10 ,  we are reading about the angel from heaven that stands on the sea and on the land . In these two verses we read that the angel has an open book in its hands

John is instructed to take the book from the angels hands .

A voice that  John heard from heaven instructs him to go take the little book which is open and in the hands of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth . So John approached the angel and said ” Give me the little book, and he said to me “Take it and eat it ; it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be sweet as honey in your mouth .

REVELATION 10:5-7

REVELATION 10 :5-7 > TODAYS KEY WORD > SWORE

SWORE OR SWEAR > affirm truth of something: to declare solemnly or forcefully that what is said is true, sometimes calling somebody or something thought to be sacred as a witness.

Now we know why John was not to write down or record this part of his vision ,  as the mystery of God would be finished as He declared to His servants the prophets. God is not yet ready at this time to have John write down this mystery .

The angel on the sea and land here swears to Him who lives forever and ever ,who created Heaven and all things that are in it , the sea and all the things that are in it , and the earth and all the things that are in it .  That there will be a delay no longer

That at the sound of the seventh angel that is about to sound the mystery of God would be revealed .

Surely John is wondering what Gods mystery is at this point >
